Strength Training 101
You might be wondering what strength training is. Strength training is designed to help improve your strength and endurance with the use of body weight, resistance bands, or weights. During strength training you will perform a variety of physical exercises that are focused on different muscle groups. You can either focus on 1-2 muscle groups each workout (back and biceps, glutes, and hamstrings, etc.) or you can do full body workout with a few exercises that target all groups.
There are many benefits to strength training. It can help you to increase your metabolism, increase muscle mass and strength, improve flexibility, improves bone density, and increase insulin sensitivity. Strength training can also help to decrease body fat, blood pressure, risk of diabetes, risk of cardiovascular disease, and risk of metabolic syndrome.
